Cottage Rental Schedule

We spend about four months a year in Lake Placid at our cottage. It’s a dream. To make that possible, we rent the house on Airbnb when we aren’t there. Win - win! If you’re planning a trip to the Adirondacks, we’d love to host you.

If you’re interested in booking the cottage, you can find all the photos and deets here, as well as 100% unfiltered guest reviews, and location info.

And here’s some additional insider info for our blog followers!

  • If it’s your first time booking with us, you can find our listing on Airbnb. For returning guests, you can book direct with us by emailing me.

  • Check our calendar on Airbnb for availability. It’s set to show availability on a rolling basis up to 6 months out. Anything farther out than that shows as unavailable, but you can always message me directly.

  • Our house is located in the residential section of the village of Lake Placid, which means we’re under a lot of village regulations that restrict rentals. For short-term rentals (any stay less than 30 nights), we’re limited to a year-end total of no more than 90 nights. Once we hit 90 nights of short-term rental, we have to block the rest of our calendar. That means that if we have a really busy January - July, our availability may be curtailed in the second half of the year. So, book early.

  • We love to rent for stays of more than 30 nights, since those stays don’t count against our rental cap. Magical! For these longer stays, message me and we’ll see about offering discounts! I also ask renters to sign a separate contract for longer stays to ensure everyone is clear on terms.

  • Open for bookings December, January and February. Book early for holidays like Christmas, New Years and Presidents’ Day, which usually get reserved well in advance! January 2023 will be especially busy with the World University Games.

  • Open for bookings March, April and May. Springtime is variable with snow skiing often still open in early March. April is mud season with snow and ice melting. Paddling season resumes. May is glorious and usually not too buggy.

  • Open for bookings June and most of July. Book early for the Lake Placid Horse Show and Ironman, which get reserved well in advance! Ironman in late July is our last booking for the summer.

  • We re-open for bookings for mid-October through November. While this is late fall and shoulder season, it’s very peaceful and plenty of activities to enjoy.
