Paddling the Raquette River in the Adirondacks

A relaxing day on the Raquette River in the Adirondacks. We paddled from Axton Landing to the takeout for Lower Falls, and walked the short trail to the falls. It was a beautiful early fall day, with relatively few people on the river.

This is a great trip for visitors who are interested in paddling on a slow-moving river. (However, this river can be faster moving and require additional skills in spring when water levels are high from snow melt.)
