Hiking Wright Peak in the Adirondacks
In the Adirondack High Peaks, Wright Peak is one of the "easier" hikes on the MacIntyre Range. It's one of the ADK 46ers (peaks over 4,000 feet high) and offers magnificent views of nearby Algonquin Peak, as well as Heart Lake, Mount Jo and Lake Placid in the distance.
From the ADK Loj, the hike is about 7 miles roundtrip and 2,500 feet of elevation gain. The summit elevation is 4,587 feet and is known to be one of the windiest summits in the High Peaks region. Amazingly, we had a very calm day at the top where we enjoyed lunch!
